When and how to begin the surveillance is in the U.S.? What r pros and cons of public surveillance? Can we have total privacy?
We have been monitoring since the first concept was developed – the U.S. is 1700. The laws have changed over time, however. Under current legislation, the Constitution (4th Amendment) requires a warrant for anything where there is an expectation of privacy, and federal laws prohibiting wiretapping without a warrant, without circumstances must meet special (see FISA, 50 USC 180x). We can have total privacy. But we also have full responsibility for what happens to us. The more you want the government to rely on anyone to take care of us and protect us, the more we let into our private lives.
